Burden is another term for overhead allocation. Burdens go hand in hand with "Tasks". You can create tasks in projects for everything from materials to subcontractors to time allocations and each of those tasks can be assigned a different burden. The burden can be based on a fixed percentage or a variable rate depending on what is defined in the burdens setup screen. Unless you are currently tracking your projects in this manner we recommend that you create one burden filled in with zeros and one task "Equipment" to start with. You can evolve to a greater level of management after fully grasping the TRX project accounting module. If you are not planning on using this feature at least one burden must still be created and zero must be used for all amounts.
