Apply Credits

Overview

Credits can be applied as an Deposit for an order or an account. The Credit and the target Order/Account must have the same Customer. If a Deposit is moved back and forth from Deposit to open credits, you will be stopped at some point by an error.

Apply Credits

From the Deposits screen, under the Apply Credits tab, we can move open credits to deposits.

Step-by-Step

  1. Open the Apply Credits screen

    1. A/R>Deposits | Apply Credits tab

  2. Enter Customer/Branch

  3. Select Transfer Type

    1. To Account - Moves the credit to a deposit on the Customer Account (not applied to Order)

    2. To Order - Moves the credit to a deposit on an order

  4. Select Terms

    1. Use F9 to find list of eligible terms

    2. Term needs to be set to the “Credit Used” term type to be available

      1. A/R>A/R Special Functions>A/R Definitions | Terms Codes tab
  5. Enter Check #

  6. Enter the amount(s) next to the Credit(s) you want applied

  7. Hit the Lightning bolt to process

 

Troubleshooting

If you aren’t seeing the Credit memo as available for transfer, or if you receive this error, you will need to reverse the credit and enter a new deposit.
