Overview
Project Materials can be handled several different ways. If you need your inventory to not show on hand to avoid salespeople selling it out from under you, or you are putting your Project Materials in a Staging location, you will want to use the Project Staging feature. This is an advanced feature that must be purchased.
Detail
How It Works
Staging Pick Tickets will ship/Issue out the inventory, but it will also add a Stage Quantity. This quantity can then be shipped out from Staging, which will reduce the Staging Quantity. This will keep the items out of inventory, so they aren’t available for Sales Orders. But, the items are still available to be shipped for the Project.
Creating a Staging Ticket
To get our inventory to Stage, we need to create a Pick Ticket, but we will choose “To Stage” when prompted
Go to Project Material Plan
P/A>Projects>Enter/Edit Projects | Materials Button
Click “Create Pick Ticket” button
Select “Yes, Staging Pick Ticket”
Select your Items
Hit Complete
The Pick Ticket is now created, but we still need to Ship it. You can either hit the “Ship It” prompt after Completing the Staging Ticket
Or:
Go to Project Material Plan
P/A>Projects>Enter/Edit Projects | Materials Button
Click “Ship Pick Ticket” button
F9 to select your Pick Ticket
Use Lightning Bolt to process
Creating a Staging PO
In addition to Pick Tickets, you can actually receive PO’s into Stage. This will mark the item as Issued and Staged when the PO is received.
Create Staging PO
To create a Staging PO, just select Stage when creating the PO
Go to Project Material Plan
P/A>Projects>Enter/Edit Projects | Materials Button
P/A>Materials>Project Materials
Click “Create PO’s” button
Select “Stage” for all Vendors that are for Staging
Hit Lightning Bolt to create PO
Receive Staging PO
Receiving a Staging PO is the same as receiving any other.
Go to Receive PO screen
PUR>PO Receiving Processing>Receive Items
Enter the PO number or Hit F9
Enter Quantities to be Received
Hit Lightning Bolt to Process Receipt.
The items will now show as Issued and Staged.
Once Items are Staged
Now that the items are staged, you can see the items are Issued and Staged. At this point, they can either be returned if this was done in error, or you can Ship it from Stage when it is ready.
Returning Staged items
To return the Staged items, you can simply create and receive a Return Ticket.
